What’s In A Name? Introducing the Silver Star Snowsport School

Mon, 15/11/2004 - 1:00 am

Silver Star’s renowned Ski and Board School just got better! As the school continues to grow and evolve, we have made a few changes that will make everyone’s experience even more memorable.

Back in 1959, as Silver Star was founded, skiing was virtually the only sport taught. Although people cross country skied, lessons were focused on downhill skiing. Times have changed. The traditional “ski school” of the past now encompasses not just alpine, or downhill skiing, but snowboarding, cross country, and telemarking as well. We want to reflect that our new school offers these options and are proud to introduce the Silver Star Snowsport School.

In addition to our name change, we have created a new sales centre for our guests. The little red school house, located on the east end of the village, has been a part of Silver Star’s history for more than ten years. For this year, we have constructed a brand new “school house” located right beside the rental shop and next to the Town Hall. It resembles the school house from the outside, but provides our guests with a more comfortable and efficient way getting information not just on lessons, but on all facets of the Silver Star experience. In addition to accommodating the Snowsport School, this building is the new home of the Guest Services Information Desk.

We are very excited about these changes at the Snowsport School for 2004-2005 and hope that our guests will benefit from the outcome. Drop in and see us anytime! If there is anything that we can do to help make your stay more enjoyable, please don’t hesitate to stop one of our pros on the mountain or come in and see us. We are always here to help.

Sincerely,
