Silver Star Set To Open Friday, November 27With the alpine base now over 100 centimetres Silver Star Mountain Resort is set to begin the 2009 / 2010 alpine ski season on Friday Nov 27th.
To the delight of the resort staff, the skies opened up over the weekend and delivered over 40cms of the white stuff needed to make the jump from Nordic skiing to Alpine. Crews have been out on the mountain preparing the runs, readying the lifts, and ensuring everything is safe for the arrival of the soon to be very happy skiers and snowboarders.
Visitors to the resort can expect to enjoy great conditions on runs accessed by the Comet Express, Silver Woods Express, and Silver Queen Chairs. Lift tickets will be discounted by 30% to $50 for adults, $42 for youth and seniors, and $25 for children. Many of the resorts restaurants have been open since the Nordic opening on October 31st but with the alpine season starting almost the entire village will be in full swing.

Tube Town Adventure Park will also debut for the season Friday at 11 a.m. Visitors can ride two lanes Friday, with more set to open as weather permits.
The 2009 / 2010 season also brings the opening of Firelight Lodge located on the edge of Brewer’s Pond and a snowballs throw away from the Tube Town Adventure Park. Guests will appreciate the stylish modern design, amazing location, and ski in ski out convenience Silver Star is famous for.

Also new this season is the addition of a ‘Kiddie Terrain Park’ on the lower portion of Far Out and the return of a family oriented Snow Cross course on Milky Way. On the food and beverage front Mountain Katz Family Restaurant replaces Clementine’s in the Vance Creek Lodge, Allora… Wine and Tapas replaces Moguls in the Bulldog Hotel and the all new HB Pizza goes into business in the Lord Aberdeen Hotel.
