Silver Star is famous for incredible early season conditions and this year will take advantage by opening the Comet chair a full week earlier than originally anticipated, bringing opening day from November 29th forward November 22nd.
"We're very lucky to have the smooth terrain and strong snow conditions we do here at Silver Star, allowing for a safe opening with less snow than many other resorts" comments general manager Michael Sherwood. "The decision to open early has come in part due to the excellent work of our summer summer grooming team, who have been mowing and slashing growth from throughout the summer." he continued.
Another full week of operations, paired with the launch of Canada's first all-inclusive season pass and day ticket is leading many to believe this will be the best winter season the resort has seen. The new my1pass included unlimited access to alpine terrain and now adds free unlimited access to 55km of Pristine Nordic Trails, 16km marked snowshoe trails, tubing at Tube Town and skating on Brewer's Pond. What's better is that it's valid on both day tickets and season passes, and season passes are the same price as last year. The early bird pricing deadline is fast approaching on October 14th. Silver Star plans to open the Comet chair and essential services for guests. The early season opening will be dependant on snow conditions.
