Silver Star Ski Resort today was named the exclusive international resort for Australian school kids participating in the popular Interschools programs. Through a partnership with Interschools Canada and Travelplan, Australia's largest provider of snowsports vacations, Australian families can enjoy a winter vacation at Canada's award-winning ski and snowboard resort while their children are being race trained by a top-notch team of international ski and snowboard coaches.

According to Stuart Aldred, Director of Interschools Canada, "the aim of these specifically designed packages is to offer excellent family value snow holidays at Silver Star, while providing children with the highest quality training program; one that has been purposely designed to meet the needs of junior skiers and boarders who take part in Interschool events in the Australian Alps.”

"Since 2001, Silver Star Resort has provided a professional Ski Instructor/Coaches teaching exchange program with many Australian Resorts," commented Michael J Ballingall, Senior Vice President, "I was personally part of that exchange program back in June of 1986, and we are thrilled to be able to offer these exclusive race training programs to Australian kids aiming to improve their racing skills. Who knows, maybe one of them will make it to a World Cup or Olympic podium one day."

Each of the highly qualified coaches are hand chosen by Interschools Canada to ensure that every child on the program not only have a memorable time but also maximize their learning experience to elevate them to that next level. "With nine World Cup podium finishes last winter, Canadians are commanding huge respect on the World Cup circuit," says Norman Kreutz, Director of Snowsports for Silver Star Mountain Resort. Silver Star Resort has collectively assembled some of Canada's top specialized amature racing coaches. These coaches will not only implement programs, methods, and a philosophy that is showing results at the highest level but still ensure training is specific to the requirements of Interschools events and athletes in Australia. "These kids will get faster," Kreutz says, "and that is every racer's goal."

A joint initiative between Australian Winter Sports Camps (AWSC) and School Snowsports Development Foundation (SSDF), the organisers of Interschool events around Australia, the Interschools Canada program enables Australian school-aged students access and experience in ski/snowboard racing activities in a spectacular alpine environment at either a recreational or competitive level. The Subaru Victorian and NSW Interschools Snowsports Championships are the largest skiing/snowboarding events of their type in the Southern Hemisphere and attracts over 10,000 entrants annually. Training for a podium to win is a must.

Silver Star Mountain Resort is located in the interior of Super Natural British Columbia, Canada's skiing and snowboarding mecca. This Resort offers 112-plus runs on 3,065 skiable hectares and serviced by over 12 modern lifts. It offers a large variety of ski-in ski-out accommodation and is world renowned for family-friendly activities, award winning services and over 7 meters of world-famous Okanagan 'champagne' powder annually.
