Silver Star Open's Canada's Best Backside- Powder Gulch Opens Sunday, December 5

Vernon, BC: A winter storm dumping over 30 centimetres (13 inches) of fresh champagne powder means that Silver Star Mountain will fire up its Powder Gulch high-speed quad chair for Sunday, December 5 th! Powder hounds will revel in 37 of Canada’s finest intermediate, advanced, and expert runs. With a mid-mountain base 125 centimetres (and growing by the hour!), Silver Star has one of the deepest early-season snow packs in all of the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. Silver Star now boasts 77 open runs, THE MOST IN THE OKANAGAN! Norman Kreutz, Director of Skiing at Silver Star Mountain Resort raves, “ the backside felt as good as heli-skiing does to me!! As the Director of Skiing, the job has its privileges, I skied it today at 1:35 pm so you can ski it tomorrow."

With the addition of several new chairs, the Powder Gulch high-speed quad has MORE uphill capacity than last year, increasing turn-around time on this expert skiing playground. All systems are go for 8:45 am launch, including the services at Paradise Camp on Sunday, December 5th. "Grab your fat powder boards and get up here. " said General Manager Michael Sherwood.
