You danced, Mother Nature delivered, and Silver Star Mountain Resort is set to open its Nordic trails for the season.
Get your skis out and throw on your Silver Star blue wax because on Friday November 11th you will be able to ski on more than 25kms of trails groomed for both classic and skate skiing. With 22cms of natural snow at the summit Friday Nov 4th and snow in the forecast Nordic manager Guy Paulsen was confident to make the call for the start of winter. “We are so lucky to need such little snow to be able to start grooming,” says Paulsen “I’ve been out there myself assisting with the rolling of the trails and I can’t wait to click into my skis and start gliding.” Skiers will be able to access the 25kms of upper trails by skiing out Cross Mtn Trail, up Cabin Trail and onto Paradise.
Trail passes will be discounted by 50% until more snow allows the resort to open the lower trail network. Passes can be purchased at the Village Ticket Office and skiers can also enjoy many of the village businesses that will also be opening their doors for the season. It’s time to say hello to your friends at the Town Hall, the Saloon, Long John’s and the Bulldog!
As new Nordic manager Guy is equally excited about the upcoming Nordic Camps now in their 25th season of operation at Silver Star. “Nordic enthusiasts have enjoyed expert instruction, excellent camaraderie, great snow, and the ski-in / ski-out convenience of our charming resort village for years,” comments Paulsen. “Every year there are familiar faces we love to welcome back and every year there are new people to meet and introduce to the Silver Star XC Camps family.” The XC Camps commence on Nov 21st and a Weekend Warrior camp starts at $219.00.
