Media Release 26th July 2007 - Wildflowers are in full bloom!

Wed, 25/07/2007 - 11:00 pm

WOW! Silver Star's spectacular Mountain Wildflowers are in full bloom, the air's fresh, the berries are ripening and the weather's refreshing. Daily (except Sunday) Mountain Wildflower Tours take eager hikers through the best wildflower and berry-laden meadows, to the most spectacular viewpoints of the snow-capped Monashee Mountains and to hidden remnants of an abandoned silver mine to discover the mountain's colourful history and geology.

"The Indian Paintbrush is spectacular this summer!" exclaims Roseanne Van Ee, Silver Star’s Nature Tour Guide, "and all the recent rain has cleared the air, revealing breathtaking views of the rocky, glacier speckled mountains bordering the East".

Mountain visitors discover the secret lives of black bears on morning Bears and Berries tours and get to sample their favourite foods growing on the slopes.

A special True Taste of Silver Star: Bouquets and Fruits tour will celebrate the mountain's bounty during the Summer Wine Festival on August 11. This tour sold out very quickly last year.

All tours wind up with a picnic snack of cookies and lemonade in the quaint village plaza. Groups of 8 or more can also book private tours.

Phone Silver Star's Summer Ticket Office at (250) 558-6010 to book a tour.

There's lots of great photos and details on both the Outdoor Discoveries and Silver Star websites. Bring your camera!
