For Immediate Release
January 24, 2007
(Kelowna, BC) Big White and Silver Star resorts are thrilled to announce that four of their top instructors will be attending this year's Interski - a week-long congress involving over 1200 snowsports instructors from 35 countries, all of which are members of the International Ski Instructors Association (ISIA).
Big White International Ski & Board School Director Josh Foster has been selected to the prestigious Canadian 'demo team' for the first time. He will be joined by Silver Star's Steve Smart, while Silver Star's Guy Paulsen will be in attendance as an Interski board member. A team of 10 ambassadors from all over Canada was chosen after a very exhaustive two-year training and selection process.
Interski is used by snowsports professionals as a way to share information and experiences on topics such as methodology, technique and new teaching approaches in an effort to continually evolve and enhance the profession of ski teaching. Interski is also an opportunity for the CSIA to show the other skiing countries what Canadian teaching is all about, along with gathering information that can help improve our system.
Yong Pyong Resort, located in the South Korean province of Gangwon, will host the 18th Interski World Congress from Jan 27 until Feb 3. Yong Pyong was narrowly defeated by Whistler-Blackcomb in the bid for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Daily updates and findings from the Interski World Congress will be made available on www.snowpro.com
