His strong alpine background has lent credibility to his Nordic & Telemark pursuits with the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors where he has begun his campaign to achieve his Level IV in both cross country & telemark disciplines. Most importantly Guy is known for his expert and individual approach and enjoys skiing with campers of all ages & abilities.
Darren’s enthusiasm for skiing technique is contagious and his coaching tips are downright practical. With over 15 years of skiing in him including the Albertville Olympics, it’s safe to say, students of Darren’s see improvement in their skiing

Most recently Mike was a wax technician at the XC World Masters in 2011. He has always worked to help his athletes and students to continuously improve their skills. His favorite quote, “Ski smart and ski smooth!” We are stoked to see Mike back with us at the camps.

Marie Cat is a fun loving and talented coach with an experienced eye for teaching the most up-to-date technique. She has been coaching at the camps & abroad for nearly a decade and brings her World Class ski-orienteering experience to her groups so you can be sure to stay right on track ;-) She lives and breathes Nordic and knows the best spots on the mountain to work on all aspects of your technique. With her experience as a physiotherapist and as a pedorthist she has a great understanding of the body and the efficiency of good technique. Come learn on her local trails.

Sandy has lived at Silver Star for 16 years and has been involved with the ski school most of those years. Many years were spent teaching and coaching in the east while attending university for kinesiology and engineering. Other sports include paddling, running and biking – both mtn and road.

Norm was the co-founder of the Silver Star Mountain Cross Country Camps 25 years ago. Since, Norm was Camp Director for a number of years as well as a veteran coach and instructor. Amongst his numerous skiing & coaching achievements, Norm was selected as a member of the Canadian Nordic Demonstration Team which represented Canada at the INTERSKI World Ski Congress. As a lifetime skier and loppeteer, Norm brings both years of experience and a passion to our camps. He looks forward to bringing you closer to your skiing goals.
Munny is a naturally gifted multisport Salomon athlete who loves Nordic coaching and racing. Working with the correct techniques, Munny will have you gliding in no time. Nordic sports have also taken him to the top in Biathlon world. Munny was in a key role for hosting the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Biathlon and will contunie to be invloved with Biathlon. “It’s about connecting with people around the globe. It’s about the search for adventure, exploration, and the limits of human achievement.”

Andi’s educational background & competitive racing experience speak to her excellent coaching approach. Andi represented New Zealand at the 2009 World Nordic Championships. As a camp coach for a number of years, Andi has made a solid reputation for herself as an excellent demonstrator as well as providing unique insight to refining one’s technique for skiers of all abilities. In her spare time she continues to be part of the Silver Star Mountain Snowsport as an expert teacher in numerous disciplines (Alpine, Nordic, Snowboard.)

Back at the Silverstar Mountain XC Camps for his consecutive sixth year, Rodger has been coaching and instructing Nordic skiing for well over a decade to skiers of all abilities. “Rodg” started skiing at the tender age of two and spent his youth racing cross-country skiing in Ontario.
He now teaches both Alpine and Nordic and follows the perpetual winter in New Zealand and Canada. Rodg will help you to get the most out of your movements and improve your efficiency so that you can ski further, faster and easier.

George has taught skiing since the eary 60’s and spent 4 years living in Europe where he skied extensively throughout the Alps. Having skied in every month of the year and tried sand dunes to stretch his sense of the absurd, he loves to pass on his joy in what a pair of skis will do – flat , uphill or downhill! George has promised not to grow up until he’s at least a hundred!
Skeets Morel has been skiing since he could stand. He learned how to ski on snowmobile trails and frozen lakes in northern Ontario. He now lives in Vernon, BC. Skeets has represented Canada at 2 World University Games, and raced in a handful of World Cups. His top result was at the 2007 World University Games where he qualified 10th in the freestyle sprint race.

Denys is a multi-sport athlete who has lived and worked at Silver Star Mountain for over 20 years. An enthusiastic coach and instructor, he believes while instruction can do much, encouragement can do more. Denys has been travelling through-out British Columbia in the past few years, running cross country certification courses & ski improvement clinics. An enthusiastic booster of all things Silver Star and Sovereign Lake, Denys is overjoyed to be part of the Supercamp team.

Jennifer discovered cross country skiing as cross training for mountain biking and road cycling in her backyard in Whistler BC as a volunteer ski patrol host. She quickly fell in love with the technical side of the sport and began racing and then sharing her passion through coaching. Instructing at The Cross Country Connection, Lost Lake,Whistler and Whistler Olympic Park in conjunction with ski servicing and waxing at The Nordic Shop Squamish.
Jennifer is excited for her third season coaching at Silverstar & Sovereign Lake Supercamps. They are a great way to shake out any cobwebs, learn new skills and build early season fitness on amazing trails with amazing people. You will be gliding faster and more efficiently for 2013!
Emily keeps us all up to date with the latest techniques in skiing. Her cheerful and unassuming attitude helps us all ski smarter and smoother!
Both techniques will be taught and skiers are strongly encouraged to ski in both. We will be able to accommodate skiers in just one technique.
It is best to bring your own equipment. Demo skis are available through Village Ski Shop (formerly Valhalla Pure @ Silver Star) and Stussi Sports located in Vernon.
It is best to bring a small supply of your own wax. We will have some waxes from our suppliers for trial.
If you have a waxing iron, bring it with you.
If you're driving, connect with Highway 97 to Vernon and follow 48th Avenue to Silver Star Road and follow for 22 km (12 miles). Silver Star Road leads you directly to the resort where you can check into your hotel, condo or vacation home.

Kelowna International Airport is serviced by many airlines including Air Canada, Jazz, WestJet, Horizon Air - Alaska Airlines, and Regional 1 Airlines. These airlines are partnered with many international carriers and fly non-stop to Kelowna daily from Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Kamloops, Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Red Deer and Seattle.
Silver Star is now the closest Western Canadian resort to Toronto. WestJet offers 6 non-stop flights per week, as well as daily direct flights from Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver! All Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz flights in and out of Kelowna are a jet service which eliminates any bag problems and cut flight times from Calgary and Vancouver down to 40 minutes! You will be skiing an hour after landing!
Airport hosts can be found in the arrivals lounge and are identifiable by their yellow vests. A frequent shuttle service is available between the resort and the airport.
