Australian Professional Education (APE) Conferences

APE is a series of professional development workshops hosted in a unique mountain setting. Workshops are focused on:

  • Sharing best practices
  • Building new networks
  • Creating fellowship
  • Connecting with current business & professional trends

What is Interschools Canada?

On-Snow Training Interschools Canada's on-snow training program at Silver Star Mountain Resort, BC Canada, is the first training program specifically designed to meet the needs of children competing in Interschool Snowsports competitions throughout Australia.

The program was designed by the School SnowSports Development Foundation (SSDF), the organisers of Interschool events around Australia. The goal of Interschools Canada is to provide memorable family snow holidays with quality coaching. .

What is different to other Programs?

  • Coaching: This is not a Ski School Program! All coaches are hand picked and possess the qualifications, skills and knowledge of the Australian Interschool Snowsports systems that’s required in order to maximise improvement and ensure a fun experience.
  • Organisation: School SnowSports Development Foundation is a not for profit organisation.
  • Endorsement: Interschools Canada is the official overseas family snow holiday and training program of SSDF.
  • Facilities: Interschools Canada has custom built training courses and facilities at Silver Star. These courses are built to replicate as close as possible Australian Interschools courses (but with more snow)!

Air Canada - FLY AND SKI THE SAME DAY. Air Canada is Silver Star Mountain Resorts preferred airline for travel from Australia. Air Canada is the easiest option for air travel from Australia as they operate daily non stop service to Vancouver from Sydney on their fleet of Boeing 777's. From Vancouver, it is a short 45 minute jet connection to Kelowna. For more information and specific connection times, contact your preferred travel professional or visit www.aircanada.com.
 

Air New Zealand - Air New Zealand is a very popular option for travel from Australia as they operate non stop service via Auckland to Vancouver. NEW for 2012/13 Air New Zealand has increased the frequency of the non stop flight and will be flying 5 times per week. Connection in Vancouver is seamless. A short 45 hop to Kelowna and you are almost at Silver Star. For more information and specific connection times, contact your preferred travel professional or visit www.airnewzealand.com.

V-Australia - V-Australia flies to Los Angeles from most large Australian cities. From LA, it is a quick hop up the pacific coast to Seattle on their partner airline, Alaska Air. From there, it is a short 45 minute flight to Kelowna. Alaska Air flies 3 flights per day from Seattle to Kelowna. Very good connection times are available with this option. Qantas - Qantas flies to many major USA cities but the most convenient connection to Kelowna is via Los Angeles. As with V-Australia, it is a quick hop up the pacific coast to Seattle or Vancouver with numerous convenient connections to Kelowna from there. You may also want to consider the option of connecting in LA onto their code share partner, WestJet. WestJet is the Virgin Blue of Canada and is a highly recommended airline. Many other connections and airline combinations are available to get to Kelowna International airport (YLW). Be sure to check with your preferred travel professional for further information and advice.

Upon arrival in Kelowna, Silver Star Mountain Resort is only 55 minutes for Kelowna International Airport. Frequent ground shuttle service is operated by Silver Star Holidays.

Immigration

International visitors to Canada must carry a valid passport and, if required, a visa. Citizens from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Mexico, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia and others do not require a visa to enter Canada.
