Every Friday and Saturday night, Paradise Camp opens it’s doors for fine dining. Climb aboard the Paradise Express snow cat and trek through the mountain under moonlit skies to Paradise Camp, located at Putnam Creek on the back side of the mountain.
Paradise Camp has a warm and charming ambience and offers a unique dining experience and superb views of the Monashee Mountains. Enjoy a romantic lantern lit dinner, choose from an impressive menu and extensive selection of wine, cocktails and martinis to pair with your meal.

Days: Friday & Saturday nights through to Feb 15th. From Feb 21st through to March 22nd the Paradise Camp tour will be available on Saturday nights only.
Departure: Departs the village at 5:30 pm, 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Tours begin December 13th and run until March 22rd.
Please note the Paradise Express requires 10 passengers to operate. The price does not include dinner. Tours must be booked in time order so the 5 pm tour must be booked first, then the 6 pm etc.
British Columbia’s Silver Star Mountain Resort specializes in dinner events. You can snowshoe, snowmobile, or ride a sleigh to dinner, but one of the most romantic experiences happens at Paradise Camp, accessible only by a snowcat.
During the day, the restaurant at Paradise Camp serves as an outpost for warming up skiers with food and drink at the top of the Powder Gulch lift. But on Friday and Saturday nights, the rustic cabin transforms into a fine dining restaurant lit by candles and lanterns.
The only way to get to Paradise Camp is by riding the Paradise Express snowcat. Tours depart every hour between 5-7 p.m. Even though the cabin is enclosed, you’ll still appreciate being bundled for the ride or can pull a blanket over your legs for extra warmth.

At Paradise Camp, the restaurant offers three seatings for dinner. Candlelight, tablecloths, and wine convert the daytime café into a relaxed atmosphere for fine dining.
Dinner starts with a menu of tapas that makes you want to try every one. The roasted butternut squash bisque is a sure-fire rich way to warm up after the snowcat ride, but the drunken prawns are a must-have, too. The choices range from Thai spring rolls to organic greens.

The entrees pose a second dilemma. Every dish sounds so yummy that you want to try them all. Meat lovers will find a New York strip loin while seafood fans can go for wild British Columbia salmon. Other dishes include a spicy sausage fusilli, spiced duckling, and a tofu entrée for vegans.
This is a dinner to linger over drinks. An extensive wine list offers broad options, including local Okanagan wines, to pair with different courses. You can also order cocktails or specialty martinis.
A selection of desserts finishes off the dinner. One of the most decadent, and therefore satisfying, is the turtle pie cheesecake topped with pecans and caramel.

Following dinner, the snowcat returns to carry diners back to the village. Contrary to the ride up in which the tour guide pointed out tidbits about Silver Star, the ride back buzzes with several conversations spun from both fine food and drink.
Everything is charge a la carte for the evening. The round trip snowcat ride costs $20 per person. Tapas run $12-18. Entrees cost $27-32.
It starts with a ride in a converted 12 passenger groomer to the Darkside of Silver Star Resort. The quirky old breakfast/lunch shack, sitting at the top of Powder Gulch Chair, had under- gone an amazing transformation for the cozy evening and become high end. Your meal starts with Tomatoes bisque soup, Drunken Prawns in Vodka Sauce, and a salad too pretty to eat. Chateaubriand, Wild BC Salmon with blackberry confit, and tuna carpaccio, are only some of your choices. Just amazing what the talented chefs can produce in this archaic and limited kitchen. The desserts were too numerous to mention (no calories at this altitude!) and of course a varied selection of wines, beers and other cocktails. Later they roll you back in the warm, comfy groomer for your moonlight tour back to the village. Definitely an evening to remember.
