    With its renowned dry, feather light champagne powder snow, Silver Star is a mountain with many attractions. The mountain's stunning 3,065 acres (1,240 hectares) are blanketed by 23 feet (700 cm) annually with the world's best powder. Experience 2,500 vertical feet (760 metres) of descent from the top of the mountain. Comfortable daytime temperatures average -5 C, (27F), which is cold enough to keep the snow light and fluffy, yet absolutely perfect for skiing.

    One of Canada's best grooming teams operates Silver Star's fleet of Bombardiers. Each and every night after the chairlifts close the team sets out to deliver velvety swales of corduroy so guests can cruise the mountain in comfort all day long. The Vance Creek has immaculately groomed runs with wide-open spaces, uncrowded slopes and great views of the Monashee Mountains.

  • NEW! Step it up a notch at the new Beginner Terrain Park

    Silver Star Mountain Resort’s new Beginner Terrain Park is the perfect place to first experience the thrill of the terrain park with small jumps and rails. Not normally found at most ski resorts, the Beginner Terrain Park is crafted in Silver Star family-friendly manner for all to enjoy. The smaller version of its bigger cousin, the Telus Terrain Park, the Beginner Terrain Park promises fun for everyone from ages 6 through 60.

  • Family-friendly Terrain Park Opens at Silver Star

    Silver Star Mountain Resort will introduce its new Snowcross Course this 2010/2011 season. The fun, family-oriented course incorporates rollers, bumps and so much more. The terrain park is the perfect place for Dad to challenge the kids to a fun-filled race to the end!

  • 12 Days of Christmas

    Set in the charming snow covered village of Silver Star Mountain; there is no better place to start the holiday season. The new 12 days of Christmas Celebration at Snowbird Lodge starts December 14 and runs right up to Christmas Day. Each night in Club Snowbird, Pepper Minstix — Silver Star’s very own Christmas Elf — reads favorite Christmas stories to children; enjoy a complimentary hot chocolate and cookies by the fireplace; watch a family holiday movie (rated PG) in the 24-seat theatre and enter the children Christmas coloring contest. In addition, there will be a different Christmas activity each night that will be fun for the whole family.

  • Kid Friendly!

    The focus is on family at Silver Star, and there are lots of great activities after a day on the slopes including the snow tubing park, the natural frozen outdoor pond for skating or playing hockey, snowmobile tours, and indoor rock climbing. There are fireworks shows, movie nights, kid’s carnival nights, family bingo, Silver Star Idol, and many other events every night of the week… all a snowball’s throw away a host of ski-in ski-out accommodation options.

  • Mountain of Dreams - Mountain Biking at Silver Star

    Each summer, hundreds of adrenalin seeking enthusiasts flock to Silver Star to experience one of the best mountain bike experiences in Canada. Under the guidance of bike park director Cam Sorensen, Silver Star has built a reputation as the place to ride in Canada. Sorensen, the "Godfather of mountain biking" at Silver Star, has built a park that is based on progression. Everything from beginner trails to expert runs filled with burms, table tops and a ton of wooden features are offered, making a trip to Silver Star a must. The season runs from June 24 through September 19 with lift tickets priced at an attractive $39.00 each.

    The Comet Six Pack Express is Canada’s largest mountain bike lift, taking bikers to 1,600 vertical feet of great riding terrain. The high-speed detachable lift is fitted with roll-on bike carriers and has a ride-time to the top of less than eight minutes. Grab your bike from the ever-so-friendly lift attendant, strap on your armour, and get ready for action!

  • FireLight Lodge Sparks Things Up

    The luxury Firelight Lodge is the new face at Silver Star Mountain Resort. Opened in 2009, its convenient location right next to the skating on Brewer's Pond at the west end of Silver Star village, its proximity to the Tube Town and its ski-in ski-out access make it a particularly great choice for families. The luxury Lodge's amenities range from outdoor hot tubs with fireplaces and all-season BBQ grilling stations on the Terrace Level, to shops and restaurants on the Plaza Level.

  • Nordic Skiing at its Best

    Rated “Number One Nordic destination in North America” by Forbes Magazine, Silver Star truly is a world-class cross-country ski destination. While national teams and Olympic medalists come to Silver Star to train, visitors shouldn’t be intimidated. Silver Star offers something for all levels of skiers. Silver Star track sets more than 60km/37mi of trail daily with 4km/2.5mi of lit track for night skiing. The village trails include six green (easy), seven blue (intermediate) and five black diamond (advanced) routes with a warm-up cabin at Silver Star Mountain viewpoint. The Putnam Creek area provides an additional four easy and three intermediate trails and a cabin at Paradise Camp. There are also two certified biathlon ranges. The resort's colourful Victorian village is the central hub for cross-country activities.
